Jakarta (ANTARA) – The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) has asked regional governments to speed up audits of stunting cases according to the predetermined schedule.

“As of June 8 2024, the realization of our Stunting Case Audit Family Planning Operational Assistance (BOKB AKS) has not yet reached 5 percent (4.89 percent),” the Director of Family Development for Toddlers and Children at BKKBN, Irma Ardiana, said in an online discussion, Monday.

According to him, only Rp. 2.03 billion (around US$ 124,474) has been used from the total budget of Rp. 41.47 billion (around US$ 2.54 million) for this assistance.

He also asked the provincial, district and city governments to update the Monitoring, Planning and Evaluation (Morena) application which is the basis for mapping the realization of BOKB AKS.

Meanwhile, Program Officer for Programs and Activities of the Secretariat for the Acceleration of Reducing Stunting at BKKBN, Muhammad Kodir, emphasized the importance of collaboration to accelerate budget absorption or realization, in line with the implementation of stunting case audits.

Kodir highlighted that the percentage of stunting case audit reports in seven provinces had not yet passed the 50 percent mark until April 2024.

These provinces are Jakarta (zero percent), Papua (3 percent), West Sulawesi (17 percent), South Sulawesi (21 percent), Maluku (27 percent), North Kalimantan (40 percent), and West Kalimantan (50 percent).

He informed that there were 90 districts and cities that had not reported the implementation of the first stage of stunting case audits this year, according to data as of May 28.

He hopes that the stage one and two audits of stunting cases can be carried out according to schedule so that intervention in stunting cases can be carried out in the fiscal year.

“Based on national achievements in examining stunting cases, as of May 28, at least 424 of 514 districts and cities in Indonesia had reported these inspections,” he said.
