Jakarta (ANTARA) – DPR member Maman Imanul Haq explained several evaluations regarding the implementation of the 2024 Hajj, including cases related to the use of non-hajj visas and delays in departures for Hajj flights.
“The first of course is related to the visa process. “We know that some Indonesian citizens use non-hajj visas, and that is the reason why deportation cases occur,” he said in a discussion entitled “Democratic Dialectics Regarding Evaluation and Notes”. regarding the Implementation of the 2024 Hajj” here, Thursday.
Haq, who was present virtually at the meeting, said that some Hajj pilgrims did not meet the health standards for the Hajj pilgrimage, even though this was only discovered before departure, causing cancellations or delays in the process.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the addition of Indonesia’s Hajj quota by 20 thousand increased the figure from 221 thousand to 241 thousand pilgrims, although the realization was considered not transparent.
“Prevent irresponsible individuals from trading quotas that shift the system. “This makes people who should go (to the Holy Land) lose out to people who can afford to pay more,” he said.
Haq then also highlighted delays in departures for Hajj flights, especially Garuda Indonesia, which reached 60 percent of the total delays.
Furthermore, he assessed that the catering and hotel services provided for pilgrims did not comply with the criteria set by the Hajj Working Committee.
Apart from that, according to reports he received, 40 percent of the bathrooms at the Hajj pilgrimage locations could not be used, and the tents set up at Arafah were already overcrowded.
“It is important for us to improve the provision of Hajj services in the future. “We will continue to collect these evaluation notes and question these aspects with the Ministry of Religion as the organizer of the Hajj, in accordance with the mandate of the Hajj Law,” he said. state.
