Tokyo, (ANTARA/PRNewswire) – Founded in 1955 and headquartered in Tokyo, Fujita Kanko operates 61 properties, including luxury hotels in the capital and hideaways near the Hakone mountains. It also owns numerous wedding venues, upscale resorts, and three separate mid-priced brands across the country: Gracery Hotels, Washington Hotels, and TAVINOS Hotels.

We’ve selected some of our favorites from the Fujita Kanko stable to showcase today, starting in Hakone, a beautiful mountain range that has been a haven for wealthy guests taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo for centuries.

HAKONE KOWAKIEN HOTEL

Nestled deep in the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, about an hour west of the capital, Hakone is a beautiful city known for its iconic views of Mount Fuji and its warm, refreshing hot springs. Fujita Kanko has a large presence here, based at the Hakone Kowakien Hotel.

This ultra-modern hotel only opened last July, built to exacting standards with a concept that combines nature with luxury. The area includes one of the largest hot springs in the entire area, and there is a spacious open-air bath on the top floor where guests can enjoy the stunning beauty of the local mountains.

There are 150 rooms, and seven private bathrooms made of wood or stone and intended for couples or families. The bathhouse is tattoo friendly – not always the case in Japan.

Your stay at the hotel will include free unlimited access to Hakone Kowakien Yunessun, a unique hot spring theme park with all kinds of unusual activities and treatments on offer. As well as activities and pools for kids, there are saunas, spa treatments and experiential baths using red wine or green tea – or more traditional onsen-style baths for men or women.

This hotel is perfect for group tours, or for FIT with family and friends.

HAKONE KOWAKIEN TEN YU

And if the luxury at the Hakone Kowakien Hotel isn’t enough, there’s the even more impressive Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu.

Each room is equipped with a private open-air bath, allowing you to enjoy the Japanese tradition of soaking in hot springs at your leisure, free from time constraints or the presence of others. This hotel offers additional facilities such as a bar for evening enjoyment, a terrace with beautiful natural views, and a foot bath.

The rooms are designed in Japanese style, featuring tatami mats, creating a typical Japanese atmosphere. The hotel’s restaurant specializes in kaiseki, which is typical Japanese haut cuisine featuring many small plates made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and the hotel is served by the same external restaurant as described above.

Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu is highly recommended for wealthy guests looking for a truly elegant and memorable experience in Japan with their family or partner.

CHINZANSO TOKYO HOTEL

Set in a beautiful Japanese garden away from the busy metropolis that surrounds it, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is a luxury hotel that offers a unique space for the highest level of hospitality in the capital city of Tokyo.

The area around the hotel is famous for its beautiful camellia flowers which have been blooming here for 700 years – hence the name Tsubakiyama, which means ‘mountain of camellias’. Today, the park is sometimes shrouded in fine mist, an ethereal work of art known as the Tokyo Sea of Clouds. The views are beautiful all day long, but they are especially atmospheric at night, when soft lighting illuminates them to stunning effect. The park has its own population of fireflies, which can be seen fluttering around ancient artifacts including stone lanterns and statues from Kyoto and elsewhere.

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo offers luxury accommodation, fine dining, event space and spa facilities – a tranquil escape in the heart of Tokyo. There are a total of nine restaurants on-site, while the rooms come with marble bathtubs and touches of elegant, classic European décor.

No expense has been spared, and no detail has been overlooked – this hotel is the ultimate in luxury. Recommended for those who want a unique experience in Japan, or perhaps for couples who want the perfect honeymoon.

WASHINGTON HOTEL

For those on a slightly more modest budget, Washington Hotels is a more affordable brand under the Fujita Kanko umbrella. There are 21 locations throughout Japan, all conveniently located and close to train stations.

Among them is the Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel in southern Tokyo. This comfortable three-star business-style hotel is a minute’s walk from the nearest station, with plenty of places to eat nearby. It is in a great location for tourists in Tokyo, with the city center only 30 minutes away. In total there are 553 rooms, of which 54 twin rooms on two floors can accommodate up to 100 people for group and conference bookings.

This type of hotel is best suited for large bookings, including school groups or travel clubs as costs can be reduced by staying outside of central Tokyo.

There is much more to offer from Fujita Kanko, and many other hotels across the country cater to a variety of needs. The TAVINOS Hotel brand features designs based on Manga motifs to cater to young visitors who want to visit Japan for its pop culture, for example. At the other end of the spectrum is Hakujukan, a guesthouse at Eiheiji Temple in Fukui that caters to tourists who want to experience the unique serenity of Japanese Zen Buddhism in one of its ancestral homes.
