Tokyo (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Ambassador to Japan, Heri Akhmadi, appealed to Indonesian citizens in the East Asian country to pray for the safety and freedom of the Palestinian people during the Eid al-Adha celebration, Monday. “As we celebrate Eid al-Adha, our brothers and sisters in Palestine are currently facing difficult times. “Therefore, I want to invite everyone here to pray for the safety and independence of Palestine,” he said to Indonesian Muslims attending Eid al-Adha. al-Adha prayer.

Ahmadi prayed with more than three thousand Indonesian Muslims at the Indonesian Mosque in Tokyo.

In his remarks, the Ambassador said that Eid al-Adha and the Qurbani service are reminders for the Indonesian people to strengthen ties of friendship.

“We need to continue to help each other, especially those in need. “When we are abroad, it is important for us to strengthen unity and brotherhood,” he added.

Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Family (KMII), Muhammad Zahrul Muttaqin, said that KMII and the Indonesian Embassy held Eid al-Adha prayers in five waves to accommodate the large number of Indonesian people who wanted to perform the prayers.

“We held five waves of Eid al-Adha prayers with a congregation of more than three thousand people. “Thank God, everything went well thanks to the synergy between KMII and the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nasril Albab Mochammad, the khatib who led the prayers, reminded the congregation of the essence of the Qurban and Hajj worship in his sermon.

He said, Qurban teaches people about sincerity and reminds of the Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice even his son to God, while the Hajj is a holy ritual, not a tourist trip for worldly purposes.

Apart from holding Eid al-Fitr prayers, KMII and the Indonesian Embassy held children’s activities to introduce children to the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Prophet Ismail.
