Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said the Indonesian delegation made an extraordinary contribution to the 112th International Labor Conference (ILC) and encouraged collaboration to implement an international standard labor ecosystem.

“I appreciate all the Indonesian delegates who attended the ILC forum. “I heard that they are an example for other countries at this year’s ILC as a united delegation,” he said in a statement from his office, Sunday.

Speaking at a luncheon with the Indonesian delegation at the 112th ILC in Geneva, Switzerland, Saturday (8 June), he appreciated the tripartite delegation consisting of representatives of workers, entrepreneurs and the government.

Fauziyah then asked all parties to continue strengthening social dialogue in facing global challenges, such as artificial intelligence, the green economy and economic platforms.

“We must also ensure that the national employment ecosystem is in line with decent work principles and international standards,” he added.

Furthermore, in accordance with this year’s ILC theme, namely “Towards a Renewed Social Contract”, he hopes that all Indonesian delegates will actively discuss and build networks with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and other member countries.

This is necessary to address other important issues discussed in the ILC, including the economics of treatment and protection against biological hazards, he said.

Fauziyah emphasized that the results of the ILC discussions would have a significant impact on the employment sector in Indonesia.

“We must be prepared to implement the results of the ILC so that it can provide maximum benefits for workers and entrepreneurs in Indonesia,” said the Minister of Finance.

On that occasion, Fauziyah also hoped that the Indonesian delegation’s participation in this year’s ILC could strengthen the national employment ecosystem, realize decent work, and advance social justice for all Indonesian people.

Especially for the tripartite delegation, the Minister of Finance appreciated the support of trade unions and employers’ organizations in commemorating May Day 2024 which was carried out safely and in an orderly manner.

“Hopefully we can continue to maintain and improve this harmonious tripartite partnership,” he said.
